Mental Health Counsellors

Job Purpose The Human Service Counselor assesses, supports and assists clients / patients within the community or hospital-based setting through the implementation of therapeutic and rehabilitative programs.

High school graduation plus an additional human services program/course of over six months and up to one year or equivalent.

For community based positions in Additions and Mental Health must have 1 year of related experience.

The Human Service Counselor is responsible for:

Participating in the assessment, development and implementation of the client support services plan.

Assisting clients with activities of daily living by teaching and counseling on lifestyle skills such as parenting, financial planning.

Assisting clients to access services of various government and community agencies.
