Schedule: Shifts during operational hours of Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. Location: The Newly Institute Halifax Clinic (#Bayers Rd Halifax NS)
The Newly Institute was founded to provide long-lasting change within the mental health industry our community and with our clients. We are leading a paradigm shift in the Canadian healthcare system by building a network of purpose-built mental health clinics across Canada. By fusing a bio-psycho-social-spiritual treatment model with medically managed therapies our intensive outpatient programs provide rapid access rapid resolution and rapid return to work and healthy lifestyle programs for anxiety depression addiction post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) trauma and chronic pain.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Halifax clinical team on a casual basis.
Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Services you will providing comprehensive client-centered care trauma therapy and addictions support for individuals struggling with complex mental health conditions. This role is a key part of our dynamic clinical team and reflects our core values of communication community excellence health and innovation.
Complete client intakes and case management support
Support clients receiving substance abuse treatment with biological monitoring relapse prevention planning psychoeducation motivational interviewing
Work collaboratively with other therapists by sharing a client caseload
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in mental health assessment/triage and treatment is required.
Experience in addictions assessment and treatment mental health group facilitation and/or care plan development is a significant asset.
A bachelors degree in nursing is required.
Registration and membership with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) in good standing is required.
ACLS training is an asset.
Technical Competences
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Teams is required. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is also required.
