Intermediate Cloud Strategist
Duration: 4 Months assignment (contract)
Client Location: Toronto (Hybrid: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)
This position is provisionally Hybrid , requiring 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM , Monday to Friday (excluding breaks). The Intermediate Cloud Strategist will play a critical role in shaping cloud financial governance and cost‑optimization strategies within Azure environments. This consultant will collaborate closely with Finance, Engineering, and Cloud Operations teams to drive forecasting accuracy, improve cloud visibility, and support enterprise cloud transformation.
Produce executive dashboards, variance analysis, and reporting using Azure Cost Management, Apptio Cloudability, and Power BI.
Lead tagging remediation activities to improve cost transparency, chargeback/showback accuracy, and reporting quality.
Strong understanding of Azure billing, cloud consumption patterns, and cost‑optimization levers.
Demonstrated experience designing and implementing tagging strategies and governance controls.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI for forecasting and analytics.
Proven ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for technical and non‑technical audiences.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, or cloud automation.
Background in cloud architecture, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering.
Experience with hybrid cloud transformation initiatives.
Familiarity with Azure Policy or custom scripting for tagging enforcement.
