Reporting to the Senior Financial Officer (SFO)/Executive Director, the Financial Analyst plays a key role in providing support to the Financial Analyst of Capital and Comptrollership, evaluation and control related to capital assets, coordination for departmental delegations of financial authorities (DFSA), management of departmental corporate credit cards, management and reconciliations of various departmental Trust accounts, cashflow forecasting and expenditure monitoring, the development, coordination and assembly of the Departments estimates, coordinating departmental Workers Compensation (WCB) invoices, assisting divisions with overtime analysis, and is the division’s SAP expert.

The Financial Analyst provides support in the development and presentation of annual departmental estimates of expenditure, departmental variance analysis and quarterly financial reporting through sound budgeting practices, expenditure monitoring, analysis and control and forecasting mechanisms, reconciliations for various programs, corporate credit, DFSA and petty cash coordinator, conduct internal audits, as well as undertakes special divisional/program assignments/projects.
Post-secondary education in the field of Finance, or other formal accounting training or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience performing accounting transactions including, reconciliations, creating financial reports and maintaining financial records.
Experience in financial management, including handling expenditures, preparing and monitoring budgets and cash flows, conducting analysis, and generating ad-hoc reports.
Experience in interpreting and applying financial administration policies, procedures, and regulations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work on several projects simultaneously to meet strict deadlines.
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Experience in managing and providing administrative functions to support day to day operations.
Experience with SAP financial management modules or other complex financial systems.

Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
Must be able to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as required
