The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a temporary full-time opportunity in the capacity of Educational Assistant . Minto Clifford Public School Note: School location/geographical area cannot be guaranteed in perpetuity and are subject to change based on student and system needs full-time Hourly Rate of Pay : $30.92 - $36.74 per hour plus applicable vacation pay in accordance with the ESA; Start Date: As soon as possible. Board Information: 10-month position (yearly from September June following the school year calendar); temporary; full-time; Educational Student Support Personnel (ESSP) & Designated Early Childhood Educators (DECE) Union Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy Reporting to the school Principal the Educational Assistant must possess willingness along with the physical ability to work with all of our students who have many diverse needs. Qualified casual ESSP Bargaining Unit employees Qualified external applicants (includes employees from other Bargaining Units) Educational Assistants work with students with many diverse needs. This work provides support for the behaviour safety medical and physical needs of a student Duties may include lifting toileting positioning and transferring children and equipment and application of BMS. Educational Assistants work with students both individually and/or in a group setting Educational Assistant Diploma and/or a combination of formal education (fields related to the development of children and/or special education) and work experience deemed equivalent by the Board Post-Secondary Degree in a related field of study Proven ability and recent experience in working with students with special needs and behavioural disabilities is strongly preferred and school-based experience is a definite asset Autism Spectrum Disorder Training Lifting/Positioning Training Candidates must be capable of performing the essential physical duties of the position such as lifting positioning and transferring children and equipment and utilizing BMS techniques where required Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools
