Civil and Structural Engineer

Phasor Engineering Inc. is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company with offices located in Burnaby, BC and Calgary, AB. We provide engineering design services for utility companies, industrial companies, and municipalities. Phasor Engineering currently has an opening for a Civil/Structural Engineer position in its Burnaby, BC office. This is a staff position, and we offer excellent benefits and a competitive salary package.

Detailed technical knowledge of structural engineering design, including steel and concrete structures, shallow and deep foundations.

• Knowledge of Civil works including site preparation, earthworks and retaining walls.
• Proficient in STAAD-Pro software as well as experience with AutoCAD. Familiarity with other applicable structural engineering software, such as RISA will be an asset.
• Ability to lead a small to medium size design project from start to completion with minimal oversight.
• Ability to mentor/provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
• Results-oriented and self-driven individual with experience juggling multiple projects and meeting project deadlines.
• Must be able to write clear and concise documents and be able to clearly explain technical information and concepts to internal and external parties.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant Civil/ Structural engineering experience.
• Previous experience working on Industrial Civil projects is preferred.
• Previous experience working in electrical HV substation design for utility companies is an asset.
