Subdivision and Development Coordinator

We are inviting applications from candidates with the proven qualifications, skills and abilities for the position of Subdivision and Development Coordinator on a full-time basis. The Subdivision and Development Coordinator's primary responsibilities are to support the Manager, Development and Subdivision in the coordination and processing of subdivision and development applications, including referrals, preparation of reports and file management.
A CIP-accredited degree in planning or related discipline (regional, community, natural resource/environmental, civil engineering, geography, urban studies); Possession and maintenance of a valid Class 5 B.Demonstrable experience in subdivision approval procedures, interpretation of bylaws, Official Community Plans, Local Government Act and related legislation in BC.
- An ability to gather, interpret and compile complex planning, environmental, economic, engineering and design data in technical reports.
- An ability to communicate in a clear, concise and considerate manner (e.g. emails and other correspondence to the public, committee and Council reports, reports to internal and external departments, answering enquiries, and presenting planning reports).
- Proficient in GIS systems, particularly ArcGIS. Experience in the use of other design and technical software will be considered an asset (e.g. InDesign, Google Sketch-Up, and AutoCAD).
