Accounting Assistant - Full TIme

Our Chatham location is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment and takes pride in accuracy and accountability.
The Accounting Assistant plays a vital role in supporting daily financial operations, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial records. Working closely with the Controller and broader Finance team, this role supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and financial reporting functions.
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying, matching, and entering invoices and packing slips
Ensure accurate and timely vendor invoice entry into the accounting system
Support accounts receivable functions, including invoice tracking, payment application, and reconciliations
Assist with vendor account reconciliations
Financial Reporting & Accounting Support
Compile routine accounting and financial summaries
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities
Research and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and internal controls
Inventory & Operational Accounting
Support inventory accounting functions, including tracking, reconciliation, and costing
Verify and enter packing slips and inventory documentation
Assist in maintaining alignment between system records and physical inventory
Maintain accurate inventory records within accounting systems
College or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

• 1–3 years of hands-on accounting or finance experience preferred
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoicing
• Experience in inventory-driven, operational, or multi-location environments considered an asset
• Technical Skills & Competencies

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Knowledge of inventory accounting and costing is an asset
