Prepare, cut, trim and portion beef, pork, lamb and poultry for retail sale

Process whole cuts of meat into standard retail portions

Remove bones and excess fat using manual cutting tools and power equipment

Grind meats and prepare fresh meat products

Weigh, label and package meat products for display and sale

Ensure proper storage, rotation and handling of fresh and frozen meats

Provide customer service and assist customers in selecting appropriate meat cuts

Maintain sanitation and food safety standards

Monitor product quality and report inventory shortages

Work conditions and physical capabilities:

  • Attention to detail
  • Physically demanding
  • Hand-eye co-ordination

Educatiion Requiremnts: Secondary School

Experience: Will train
