Job Responsibility:
Job Summary:
Holiday Inn Ottawa East is seeking a skilled and reliable Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of hotel facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient environment for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work.
Inspect hotel facilities and equipment regularly to identify issues.
Respond to guest and staff maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
Perform preventive maintenance on a scheduled basis.
Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and projects.
Assist in the implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
Participate in emergency response operations as required.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work.
Previous experience in hotel maintenance.
Knowledge of energy management systems.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings.
