Junior Financial Accountant – ValPay – Montreal
We are hiring at ValPay and are looking to appoint a Junior Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Montreal!
ValPay is scaling rapidly, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented and driven Junior Financial Accountant to support our finance operations. Ideal for someone early in their career who wants to grow in a fast-paced, operationally-focused environment.
ValPay, the payment processing arm of Valsoft, operates and manages Valsoft’s global portfolio of wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical integrated payment processing solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, ValPay delivers a time-sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.
The successful candidate will be based anywhere within commutable distance of our office in Montreal, Saint-Laurent, working in an in-office work model!
Assist with day-to-day accounting functions (A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations)
Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies
Support audits and financial reporting
Exposure to ERP systems or automation tools is highly advantageous
At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is essential
- 1–2 years of financial accounting experience or a relevant internship is essential
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS)
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Flexible and able to adapt to change
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
- Hands-on mentorship and training
