In our recruitment and hiring process at Wood Canada Ltd., we want to emphasize that we do not employ artificial intelligence or automated systems to screen or select candidates. Provide structural design and technical support including calculations, design, and design drawing reviews from conceptual level to detailed design for large industrial operating facilities, preferably mineral processing facilities.

Provide technical assistance to site during construction phase.

Conduct regular site inspections, to ensure design intent is met and ensure that all rules, regulations, and guidelines are explicitly followed.

Develop or alter standard project specifications to meet project specific design criteria.

Monitor and guide design/drafting tasks and oversee the internal checking required on all project drawings.

Organize, plans, and coordinate own work as well as the resources assigned on a specific project.

Interfacing with Piping, Plant Layout, Process, Civil, Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.

Operating within the company's quality system and safety policy in all phases of assignments.

Coordinate and work with project team members in Canada and other Wood execution offices across the globe.

Give effective presentations to customers, suppliers and internally within the organization.

Provide technical proposal development effort on behalf of the structural engineering team

Undergraduate or Graduate degree from a reputable university in Structural Engineering with P. Minimum 5 years of relevant structural engineering experience with various phases of capital and heavy industry projects from studies to detailed design. Experience in the mineral processing and mining industry is considered as asset.

Site experience.

Experience developing proposals for various phases of capital projects.

Understand North American engineering and design Codes and standards.

Hands-on steel and concrete design experience in mining and mineral processing industry and heavy industrial.

Knowledge of steel fabrication is an asset.

Client management experience is an asset.

Knowledge of STAAD Pro structural analysis, RISA 3D, SAP 2000, and S-Concrete.

Experience with Mathcad or Excel, Navis Works, AutoCAD, MS Office.

Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood now or in the future is required.
