The City of Iqaluit is looking for a Procurement Officer to join our team!
Title: Procurement Officer
Department: Corporate Services
Status: Full-Time Term (Ending January 12 th , 2027)
Rate of Pay: $36.88/per hour, 35 hours a week
Reporting to the Inventory Services and Control Manager, the Procurement Officer is responsible to provide a support role within the Procurement Department. In this role they will assist with purchasing activities, warehouse and inventory management, shipping and receiving, and sealift planning.
Minimum Level of Education/Training:
~ Minimum one (1) year’s experience in a warehouse environment or government office
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Assets:
Courses in Business, Accounting, Inventory management, warehouse logistics or supply chain management
Membership of Supply Chain Management Association
Familiarity with Great Plains software
Knowledge of equipment, automotive or machinery parts
Fluency in Inuktitut and/or French
Criminal Record Check is a requirement of this position.
A valid Nunavut Class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable Driver’s Abstract
Indigenous Language
~ Inuktitut or French is considered an asset

Statut d’emploi : Mandat à temps plein (se terminant le 12 janvier 2027)
Sous la responsabilité du gestionnaire des services d’inventaire et du contrôle des stocks, l’ agent d’approvisionnement est chargé d’assurer un rôle de soutien au service des approvisionnements. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, le titulaire du poste participera aux activités d’achat, à la gestion des entrepôts et des stocks, à l’expédition et à la réception, ainsi qu’à la planification du transport maritime.
Niveau minimum d’études/de formation :
~ Diplôme d’études secondaires ou des études équivalentes.
Au moins une (1) année d’expérience dans un environnement d’entrepôt ou un bureau gouvernemental
Connaissance pratique de la suite Microsoft Office
Cours en commerce, comptabilité, gestion des stocks, logistique d’entrepôt ou gestion de la chaîne d’approvisionnement
Membre d’une association de gestion de la chaîne d’approvisionnement
Connaissance du logiciel Great Plains
Formation en gestion des conflits
Connaissance des équipements, des pièces automobiles ou de machines
Maîtrise de l’inuktitut et/ou du français
Un permis de conduire valide de classe 5 du Nunavut et un dossier de conduite acceptable
Langue autochtone
~ L’inuktitut ou le français est considéré comme un atout
