The Office of the Vice-Principal Research (OVPR) at UTM has recently launched SpinUp, which joins the University of Toronto Entrepreneurship (UTE) network of accelerators as U of T’s first wet-lab-based incubator. SpinUp provides early-stage life science startups with affordable access to coworking lab and office spaces, infrastructure, equipment, and programming, while creatingexperiential learning opportunities for UTM students, and research partnerships for UTM researchers.
The SpinUp Program Coordinator will perform an essential role by working under the direction of the Director, Partnerships and Innovation to provide day-to-day support for resident startups; organize and deliver entrepreneurship programming and events; In performing these tasks, it is essential that the Coordinator consistently demonstrate significant tact, collegiality, discretion, and collaborative skills during interactions with both internal and external stakeholders.
Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
Consulting with clients regarding the development of project scope and resources
Determining logistical details and activities for events and/or programming
Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) administrative guidance
Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, the life sciences, or related field is required or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
Experience coordinating projects and managing events.
Excellent organizational, time management and professional presentation skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and social media platforms.

Assets (Nonessential):

Graduate degree in chemistry, the life sciences, or related field (MSc, PhD).
Knowledge of laboratory safety policies and procedures.
Schedule: Full-Time
