Re-cutter

Job Responsibility:
Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Torch Cutter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate cutting equipment and tools to produce high-quality components that meet precise specifications. This role involves maintaining safety protocols, and working collaboratively to support efficient production processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cut oversize metal using a cutting torch into marketable sized pieces using oxy/propane fueled cutting torches. Typically, these pieces are too thick or too large to be processed effectively with mobile or stationary shears
Working outside
Agility to climb in and around all shapes and sizes of metal for torching safely
Assist in the maintenance of the equipment used in the performance of the job
Recognize operational problems and report them to the supervisor
Assist in other yard work and warehouse duties when the need arises
Cleaning your work area and equipment at the end of your shift
Other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

While torch cutting or previous industrial-setting experience gives you an advantage it is not a must - we are willing to train the right candidate
Knowledge of torching equipment an asset
Working knowledge of safety standards
Good oral English communication abilities
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
Able to work professionally, respectfully with a positive attitude and high level of personal integrity always in a fast-paced working environment
Strong work ethics, willingness to learn and ability to complete work in a timely manner are keys to success in this role
Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Dexterity - the job is physically demanding
Experience running a bobcat is considered an asset
Attention to detail and a focus on SAFETY are constantly required
Work Conditions & Additional Information:
Will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions (rain or shine)
Long hours of standing/sitting
Own tools/equipment required : Steel-toed safety boots
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
Flexible language requirement:

Day shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
