Manufacturing Engineering Specialist: Assembly

Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Milton, ON facility and offers benefits from day one. If so, we want you to join our team as a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist. This position will be an onsite role based out of our manufacturing site in Milton, Ontario.

Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee projects aimed at developing new manufacturing processes or enhancing existing ones. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Coordinate cross-functional teams and manage project resources effectively.

Analyze current manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. Engage with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and integrate new technologies, tools, or machinery into the production environment.

Industry Engagement: Stay actively involved in industry conferences, events, and professional networks to keep up with trends and advancements in manufacturing technology. Apply industry knowledge to drive innovation and maintain competitive edge.

Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure all manufacturing processes and practices comply with relevant safety regulations and industry standards. Foster collaboration with engineering, design, and production teams to ensure seamless manufacturing processes. Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.

College diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Advance Manufacturing, Automation & Controls, or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, automation and/or IT project development.

Experience with Lean and project management tools.

No moving (relocation) is offered for this position.

Experience in machine controls, sensors, motors, programming, data extraction and analytics.

Experience in sheet metal industry (Punching, Laser cutting, forming)

Experience working with ETO electrical distribution assemblies and knowledge of governing Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) standards

Proficient with computer and software tools – including advanced Excel capabilities (pivots, macros, etc.), MS-Project, Minitab, SQL, and at least one programming language.

Experience working with Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.

The successful candidate will possess experience managing projects from design to implementation stage including hands-on testing and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. They should demonstrate a robust understanding of manufacturing, tools, safety and quality and be able to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced setting. They should also possess strong communication skills and the ability to teach and influence others, including both office staff and production employees, while influencing continuous improvement in the site’s manufacturing processes.

The candidate should also be willing to maintain thorough documentation of manufacturing procedures and processes and be dedicated to keeping informed of the latest advancements in manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
