Speech Therapist or Audiologist

The Community Accessible Rehabilitation (CAR) program is an ambulatory rehabilitation program for adult clients with complex neurological injuries/conditions. The Speech Language Pathologist (SLPII) on the CAR team works with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team serving an outpatient population in the Community Accessible Rehabilitation (CAR) Program. The successful applicant will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and consultation for CAR clients with speech difficulties as a result of a neurological injury/condition. The SLP II ensures that their clinical practice is evidence-based and meets professional standards of practice. The position involves provision of patient care, consultation to CAR staff and clients, orientation of new staff and students to the service, participation in CAR program evaluation and program development. The successful candidate will excel while working independently and within a team. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated interested advancing their knowledge and skills as an SLP. This position will work out of two CAR sites: 3 days per week out of the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre and 2 days per week out of the Peter Lougheed Centre. CAR is a multisite program and location/schedule may change based on program needs. The caseload for all positions within CAR may be subject to change based on operational considerations.
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Additional Required Qualifications: At least one year of recent experience (within the last 3 years) working with adult clients. Newer grads with a practicum in an adult outpatient or tertiary rehab setting may be considered. Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of recent (within last 3 years) experience working in an outpatient neuro rehab setting. Experience with virtual service delivery.
