As we scale up our quantum processors and supporting infrastructure, we are seeking a skilled and self-driven Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Team. This role focuses on the CAD of the cryogenic dilution refrigerators setups, assemblies of 3D resonator cavities and structural and thermal analysis of those.
Develop CAD of 3D cavities, ensuring mechanical precision and compatibility with cryogenic environments and create technical drawings for fabrication.
Explore mechanical elements of designs and manufacturing techniques in cavity designs to improve the repeatability of assembly.
Conduct structural and thermal analysis on the cryogenic setup to support the payload and thermal performance, analytically and with FEA simulations.
Maintain and organize CAD libraries, revision control, and documentation to support long-term system scaling and reproducibility.
Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or Master’s degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering or in related field with minimum 2 years of mechanical design experience.
Experience in CAD modeling and assembly design for precision mechanical systems, using Solidworks, Onshape or other advanced CAD software
Experience with revision control and documentation of CAD
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles
Experience with stress and thermal analysis using FEA simulation software
Advanced level in English, to communicate with team members
Intermediate knowledge of French an asset
Proficient in producing clear and concise technical reports
