Licensed Practical Nurse LPN - Temporary Full Time(Nights)

The town of Peace River is nestled in the beautiful Peace River valley and is the cultural and economic hub of the Peace Region of northwestern Alberta. The town population is about 6,000 with a surrounding catchment of 10,000. You will be working closely with physicians and members of a multidisciplinary team to provide care for patients while following AHS values. You will be responsible for caring for patients from CTAS 1-5. This ER department is a stroke, cardiac and trauma center for the area. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000.00. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. Temporary accommodations and relocation may be considered.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

OBS, NRP, ACLS, Med/Surg experience, medication administration all routes, organizational and critical thinking skills, ability to work independently. Previous experience in an ER department is preferred.
