Your New Company Jim Pattison Developments (JPD) is the real estate division of the Jim Pattison Group of Companies (JPG). In Western Canada, JPD is also active in the development of new projects consisting of multi-family condo and rental residential, industrial, self-storage and retail commercial. JPD also has plans to diversify the portfolio to include projects in other major centres across Canada.
Reporting to the Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician will take full responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and operations of a Victoria-based portfolio, which includes three retail properties and one commercial office building all within 20 minutes of each other.
In this hands-on role, you’ll perform regular preventative maintenance while responding promptly and professionally to tenant requests to ensure a high level of satisfaction. You’ll troubleshoot and maintain key building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire and life safety, and security and ensure everything runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will also include coordinating with contractors and vendors, responding to emergencies, as well as any additional tasks/responsibilities as assigned. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach, a proactive mindset, and a strong sense of initiative, as well as at least two years of experience in commercial building maintenance or building operations. You excel at prioritizing, are self-motivated and detail oriented. Experience with Angus Anywhere / MRI Angus is an asset. Previous experience in commercial building operations or building maintenance is preferred. You will be required to be on call for any emergencies and have a class 5 BC Driver’s License.
In recognition of your dedication and effort, you will receive a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of up to $65,000 — $75,000 (experience dependent), three weeks of vacation, an extended health package, RRSP matching, company phone or phone allowance, and use of a company vehicle.
