Needle Loom Operator

Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time

Candidate must be comfortable with shift work. This will consist of 4 weeks on day shifts and 4 weeks on nights.

Under the supervision of the Needle Loom Team Leader, the position performs a variety of needle loom functions. These major duties include but are not limited to; transporting raw materials throughout the warehouse, setting up looms or other processing machines, reading operating instructions and preparing loom pattern mechanisms, operating looms to needle punch fiber into textile fabrics or products, repairing minor mechanical problems such as broken or defective needles and completing major cleans on the machinery. Retrieves and transports raw materials required to produce correct products by operating the forklift and using other powered equipment and lifting devices

Places raw materials into the feedbox

Adjusts machine performance on material by observing machine operation; Observes process and continuously checks fabrics or products for defects and verifies quality and efficiency requirements

Investigates and troubleshoots equipment stoppages and notifies the team leader if there are any assembly, safety or quality issues

Notifies team leader or maintenance of mechanical malfunctions

Transports and stores finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant by operating the forklift and using other powered equipment and lifting devices

Records all production information on the production and quality reports

Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards

Maintains a positive working relationship with team members and management in a team environment

Sets-up and organizes individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness at all times

0-3 months experience in a manufacturing environment

• Accuracy skills required when programming needle boards
• Health and Safety aware to minimize risk of injury from equipment
