Our client is a well-established mining operation in the Sudbury region, recognized for its commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Due to ongoing operational requirements, they are seeking an experienced Instrumentation Technician to join their underground maintenance team.
As an Instrumentation Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the reliability of production equipment through the installation, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems. Safely install, test, commission, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation and control equipment.
Diagnose and resolve equipment failures and instrumentation-related issues to reduce operational disruptions.
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and OEM manuals.
Conduct inspections and ensure all equipment operates within established standards.
Maintain compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
Trade Certification as an Instrumentation and Control Technician (Red Seal 447A) or a College Diploma/Technology Diploma in Instrumentation.
- Minimum post-secondary education from a recognized community college.
- 2–4 years of experience in instrumentation, controls, maintenance, or industrial operations.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities related to instrumentation and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Solid understanding of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other applicable legislation.
- Previous mining, industrial, or heavy industry experience is considered an asset.
Competitive hourly compensation of $43.36 — $48.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Weekly daytime schedule with opportunities for overtime.
Long-term contract position through July 2027 with potential for extension
Contract opportunity with the potential for extension based on operational requirements and performance
