Datastage Developer
Toronto - Hybrid (4 days WFO)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ETL solutions: Design and build DataStage jobs to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into target data warehouses or data marts.
- Data Warehousing and Data Integration: Focus on data warehousing and data integration projects, ensuring data consistency and availability for business intelligence and analytics.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize the performance of ETL processes to meet business requirements and ensure efficient data processing.
- SDLC and Agile Methodologies: Participate in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and potentially work within agile frameworks.
- Work with business analysts, data architects, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Production Support: May be involved in providing support for existing DataStage jobs in production, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
- IBM InfoSphere DataStage: Strong proficiency in using DataStage for ETL development.
- SQL and Databases: Solid understanding of SQL and experience with relational databases like Oracle.
- ETL Concepts: Deep understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing principles, and data integration best practices.
- Unix/Linux: Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, including scripting (e.g., Unix Shell Scripting).
- Data Modeling: Familiarity with data modeling concepts and techniques.
- Agile and DevOps: Experience working in agile environments and potentially with DevOps practices
