Job Title: AWS AI Developer

Location: Onshore Canada (preferably Greater Toronto Area) – Hybrid (2–3 days onsite)

Duration: 12 months
Role Summary A leading organization is seeking an AWS AI Developer to support a conversational AI solution built on Amazon Lex, Amazon Bedrock, and serverless AWS services. This role focuses on chatbot development, Generative AI integration, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) in a secure, enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building GenAI-powered applications, working with AWS serverless architectures, and integrating large language models into production systems.
Experience

• 2–4 years of total software development experience
• 1–2 years building chatbots or GenAI / ML-powered applications
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless and event-driven architectures

Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain Amazon Lex chatbots with AWS Lambda fulfillment
Integrate Amazon Bedrock models (e.g., Claude) and manage prompt design
Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows using embeddings and vector search (PGVector / PostgreSQL)
Develop secure APIs and backend integrations using API Gateway, ALB, or NLB
Implement authentication and authorization using Microsoft Identity (OIDC / OAuth, JWT)
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and technical documentation
Implement logging, monitoring, and tracing using CloudWatch and X-Ray
Support Amazon Connect chatbot handoff and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Required Skills
AWS Services: Lambda, Lex, Bedrock, Amazon Connect, API Gateway / ALB / NLB, IAM, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager
GenAI / RAG: Embeddings, vector similarity search, prompt engineering
Databases: PostgreSQL, PGVector, basic SQL
Programming Languages: Python or Node.js
Security: OAuth / OIDC (Microsoft), JWT, least-privilege IAM design
DevOps: Git, CI/CD (CodePipeline or GitHub Actions), Infrastructure as Code (CDK or Terraform)
Nice to Have
Experience working with Claude models
Caching solutions (Redis / Amazon ElastiCache)
Prompt evaluation and testing tools
Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
AWS Associate-level certification is a plus
