Senior Accounting Supervisor

On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting a Senior Accountant to join their team of dedicated professionals in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

As part of the Finance team, this position includes supporting full cycle accounting for a group of companies, preparing month-end financials, budgeting and forecasting activities, financial reporting and analysis, and other project work. Reporting to the Controller, we are looking for an individual who is well-organized, analytical, able to provide high quality and accurate financial reporting, as well as someone with a positive attitude and motivation to create efficiencies and support the continued growth within the Company.

Oversee general ledger entries and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all accounts.
Support accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
Analyze financial and non-financial data.
Assist in the development and implementation of new systems and processes.
Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures as necessary.
Support the Controller with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
CPA designation or pursuing.
Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
Experience with month-end closing and reconciliation processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and senior management.
