Are you enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Black history of Edmonton and Western Canada Do you love to facilitate memory-making experiences Are you eager to share your knowledge and lived history in response to peoples curiosity perspectives and questions If so read on to learn more about the amazing opportunities that come with being a Black History Interpreter!
As a historical interpreter you will bring history to life in times-gone-by and create meaningful experiences for others. To visualize what its like to be on our team watch this video:
Respectfully and inclusively navigate the scope of public questions and perspectives while acknowledging your right to do the same.
Participate in outreach media engagements public events and other functions.

~ Some experience with program delivery for the general public tour groups children and other program users
Assets:
Knowledge of and networks within our Black community
Some experience with related Black community networks and activities
Experience working in a museum cultural centre or historic site
Ability to converse in a second language
Alignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies ( a culture of equity diversity reconciliation and inclusion (
Ability to work weekends holidays evenings as required
Up to 4 temporary part-time positions for up to 5 months (May to September)
Hours of Work: Up to 39 hours per week Monday - Sunday weekends evenings and holidays as required from May to August. Weekends in September.
Salary: $21.918 - $26.183 (Hourly)
