Full-Time SAFETY ADVISOR

Employment Type : Full-time, year-round
Burnaby Blacktop Ltd. is seeking an experienced and motivated Safety Officer to support and lead our health & safety programs across municipal, commercial, and industrial projects.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong construction background who is committed to maintaining high safety standards and fostering a proactive safety culture on-site.
Previous experience in a safety-related role
Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safety practices
Experience conducting site inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations
Ability to develop and implement safety policies and procedures
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits
Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and company safety policies
Coordinate and verify BC 1 Call tickets and utility locates prior to excavation
Deliver safety training and toolbox talks
Maintain accurate safety records and documentation
Collaborate with supervisors and crews to promote a strong safety culture
Identify hazards and implement proactive safety improvements
