Litigation Assistant/Law Clerk

We are currently seeking a Litigation Law Clerk to join the Litigation practice group in either our Ottawa or Toronto office, as a new addition to our team (as opposed to filling a vacancy).

A Law Clerk Diploma/Certificate or the equivalent in experience;

• Experience as a Litigation Law Clerk, particularly with respect to e-discovery principles and software, including acting as liaison between third party vendors and counsel and administration of large document collections;
• Excellent writing skills, organizational skills, and an attention to detail;
• Strong knowledge of typical office computer applications, including document management software, or a willingness to learn; Assisting lawyers with litigation files in the Toronto and Ottawa offices;
• Working with e-discovery software and assisting in the collection and production of documents for litigation purposes;
• Interacting with clients and lawyers in the firm to obtain information and report verbally and in writing on the status of files;
• Drafting routine motions, pleadings and correspondence;
• Assisting with the billing and administrative reporting requirements for certain clients; Other administrative duties, as required.

The salary for this position will be determined having regard to the level of experience and skillset of the successful candidate as well as the local market.
