Audit Analyst Accounting

The primary responsibility of this role is to perform month end closing activities such as analyses, journal entries and generation of reports. Month End and Reconciliations (60%)

Prepare account reconciliations and resolve issues and unreconciled differences
Provide meaningful analysis, in-depth review and commentary on monthly/quarterly/annual financials and comparisons to prior periods for areas assigned.
Provide supplementary and ad-hoc reporting / analysis as required.
Identify and execute process improvements for existing month end activities and reconciliations.
Partner with various individuals within finance and the business to improve controls and efficiency.
Prepare standardized and ad hoc reports used by management and other finance team members
Support and liaise with the external auditors in their execution of the audits
Evaluate the existing month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes and propose improvements that result in a more efficient and effective close process
Communicate with the finance team and manage workload to ensure timelines outlined for the month end closing activities are met
Contribute towards a continuous improvement mindset within the finance team
Other projects and ad hoc requests as required
University degree or equivalent in accounting, business, finance or a related field.
- Professional accounting designation (Canadian CPA is an asset) or working towards a designation.
- Experience with Oracle is an asset.
- Strong / advanced Excel skills.
- 2 years of finance or related experience is required.
