Mortgage Adviser/Advisor - Home Based

Position Overview Reporting to the Director, Credit & Risk, the Mortgage Analyst will assist in the underwriting of residential and commercial mortgage applications. This role involves assessing applications submitted by Mortgage Brokers, evaluating borrower creditworthiness based on lending criteria, and supporting the underwriting team in managing risk. The Mortgage Analyst will also work closely with brokers, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth and efficient mortgage transactions.
Assist in the review and analysis of mortgage applications, ensuring compliance with company lending guidelines and risk framework.
Conduct due diligence on borrower financials, property details, and market conditions.
Support the preparation of loan files, credit reports, and approval documentation.
Communicate with mortgage brokers, lawyers, and appraisers to ensure seamless deal execution.
Make recommendations to support financing opportunity decisioning when presenting to the Director and President.
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in mortgage underwriting, lending, or financial services preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and financial data.
- Must have experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT).
- Experience in alternative lending is considered an asset.
