Warehouse Supervisor
Duration: Regular Full Time
Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
This is supervisory work in directing the day-to-day warehouse operations of the municipality. An incumbent plans and oversees the ordering, receiving, issuing and controlling of a wide variety of supplies, materials, tools, and automotive parts. An employee of this class supervises a group of subordinates engaged in manual and clerical warehousing duties and warehouse equipment operation. Trains, coaches and evaluates staff performance and provides assistance to staff engaged in inventory management. Considerable independence of judgement and action is exercised in the work while the more complex or policy matters are referred to a supervisor. Plans and directs the day-to-day operations of the Municipal Warehouses; oversees and participates in the ordering, receipt, issuance and inventory of stock and non-stock as required for end user departments. Maintains adequate stock levels according to known or anticipated demands and processes requisitions and work orders; ensures the availability and timely delivery of goods. Participates and oversees the implementation and monitoring of new warehouse processes and procedures. Operates a forklift used to move, store and retrieve various items as required. Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 supplemented by courses related to the work plus considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. of the policies, practices and procedures governing the ordering, receipt, storage, issuance and inventorying of a variety of materials, parts, supplies and tools. Ability to supervise the work of subordinates performing manual and clerical warehouse work and material handling equipment operation. Ability to use software applications used in the work. Ability to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner and meet the physical demands of the work. Please apply online by May 14, 2026.
