Reporting to the Executive Director, Capital Project Office, the Contract Specialist is responsible for coordinating contracts and associated legal filings for the Capital Project Office. Working in a fast paced, dynamic environment, this role requires a strong understanding of construction contracts, tender processes, and legal documentation. The Contract Specialist prepares memorandums, bylaws, and various reports for presentation to the Board of Education, ensuring all information is accurate, factual, and complete. Prepare bylaws, administrative memorandums, presentations, and other materials for the Board of Education or the Ministry of Education.
Coordinate with legal counsel and the Secretary-Treasurer on the review and approval of bylaws, restrictive covenants, statutory rights of way, and
other legal documents.
Administer the Capital Project Office’s pre-qualification process for general contractors, architects, and other consultants.
Administer the public tender process for the Capital Project Office, including:
Updating the District’s Supplemental General Conditions with support from CPO Administration and legal counsel.
Maintaining a current front-end package to support CCDC tenders.
Leading the public tender opening and preparing bid summary sheets.
Provide oversight and support to administrative staff in the Capital Project Office.
Completion of a two-year post-secondary program in business administration, contract administration, public administration, or a related

field.

• The salary range for this position is $78,856 to $98,570 per year with comprehensive benefits package and Municipal Pension.

Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of qualifications and ability to meet the key requirements of the job, and consideration of internal equity comparisons.
