Shop Labourer
LOCATION: Whitehorse, Yukon
POSITION STATUS: Seasonal, full-time
SUPERVISOR: Operations Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shop Laborer will assist with day to day operations including basic vehicle maintenance, delivery of goods, shop maintenance and assisting the Ops Manager with varying tasks. This is an entry level position and will allow the opportunity to work with and around large equipment as well as occasional exposure to General Waste’s heavy duty mechanical shop as needed. Signing bonus of $500.00 will be paid after successfully completing seasonal employment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Loading & unloading of equipment/goods
Delivery, removal & maintenance of porta-potties and other equipment
Cleaning, tidying, & general maintenance of the shop and property
General maintenance and organization of shop equipment
Operation of fork lift & bobcat
Operating 14yard Waste Truck
Other Related Duties
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
Strong oral and written skills
Good customer service skills
Experience working with/around large equipment
Must work well in a team environment
Ability to work independently with instructions
Valid class 5 driver’s license held for a minimum of 2-3 years with a clean drivers abstract
First Aid Certificate considered an asset
