Handyman/ Maintenance Person

Employment Type: Part-time 24 hours a week (3 days). Fixed Term until December 2027

• Remuneration: $63903 Full Time Equivalent 17% super - $32.33 per hour (Level 1)
• The Maintenance Assistant provides entry-level hands-on support to the day-to-day operation of UNSW Student Accommodation residences.

Working closely with the maintenance team this role focuses on basic maintenance tasks inspections and repairs and escalating issues when necessary.
This is not a trade role and does not provide trade training or apprenticeship pathways. Remuneration is $63903 Full Time Equivalent 17% super which roughly equates to $32.33 per hour super.

Undertake basic inspections to identify maintenance and WHS issues
Assist with a range of basic handywork and fix-it tasks across accommodation sites
Complete tasks under direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and Handyperson
You enjoy practical hands-on work and are reliable organised and comfortable following instructions. This role suits someone seeking steady entry-level maintenance work rather than a trade or technical position.
Experience in completing basic repairs and maintenance tasks
Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Basic computer skills and attention to detail
A valid WWCC and a Police check (compulsory as you will be working within Student Accommodation)
The role is 3 days a week. Days are flexible; however work has to be between Monday to Friday 9 to 5. Candidates will need to have valid working rights (student visas welcome) this role is not available for sponsorship.
