Retail Buyer
We are currently seeking a Retail Buyer passionateabout great local food to join our Procurement team! Previous experience with procurementin a retail operation is required for this position. The Retail Buyer isresponsible for supporting the strategic and forward-looking purchasing needsof The Root Cellar to help the business remain competitive. Attend industry trade shows meets with new andcurrent vendors and analyzes competitor offerings to expand in-store productselection.
Advertising Strategy: Support the Procurement Manager with ad programdevelopment and maintenance and support with planning and executing holidayand special event procurement.
Implement and maintainin-store programs to increase customerloyalty and margin contribution.
The Root Cellar sprouted from a deep passion for fresh local food and sustainable food systems.
What began as a small idea quickly took root in Victoria where the community embraced and amplified that passion - helping The Root Cellar grow into what it is today. Across both markets we proudly offer Vancouver Islands widest selection of locally grown organic and conventional produce alongside a full-service butcher and deli artisanal groceries dairy fresh breads and bulk foods.
At The Root Cellar were committed to supporting local farmers and makers celebrating great food and creating a welcoming place where quality care and community come together under one roof.
Compensation includes a base salary of$68000 to $78000 (based on related experience) plus a performance bonus tiedto KPIs.
