Accounting Specialist, Finance-Investment

Derivatives Accounting Specialist Location Hybrid work in Winnipeg, MB : Permanent Full Time The Derivatives Administration team is responsible for all accounting, reporting, and administration for The Canada Life Assurance Company's derivatives.

The Derivative Accounting Specialist plays a significant role in the daily operations, as well as accounting and reporting functions. This position is responsible for performing daily procedures and activities, such as cash movements, reconciliations, trade administration, and accounting entries.

Responsible for performing tasks in accordance with the Company's internal control procedures to ensure appropriate cash movement.

Trade administration (reviewing legal confirmations, correct trade entry into derivatives system, appropriate approval)

Reconciliations of cash and suspense accounts in SAP.

Perform ad hoc projects

Completion of post secondary education, specializing in Accounting/Finance, such as Business Administration or B. Completion of/or working toward a professional accounting designation

Completion of the Canadian Securities Course would be considered an asset

Experience with derivatives/investments would be considered an asset

Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
