Finance Analyst - Remote

Our client, a well-established Canadian real estate investment and property management organization, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their growing finance team. With a diverse portfolio of commercial and retail properties across Canada, the organization offers a collaborative and dynamic environment where employees are encouraged to take ownership of their work and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working alongside a team of experienced accounting professionals, the Accounting Analyst will play a key role in financial reporting, tenant recoveries, variance analysis, budgeting, and portfolio accounting. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working cross-functionally, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to further develop their expertise within property accounting.

Hybrid work arrangement (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Ensure accurate financial records, controls, and reporting for an assigned portfolio of commercial and retail properties
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and income statement reviews
Complete detailed variance analysis of revenues and expenses
Prepare CAM, tax, and chargeback recovery adjustments in accordance with lease agreements
Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable, tenant ledgers, and prepaid rent accounts
Collaborate with Leasing, Operations, Mortgage Finance, and other internal stakeholders
Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as required
Related post-secondary education and a minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, or 5+ years equivalent working experience.
CPA designated or CPA- active is considered an asset
