The Inspire Centre is a bilingual not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth with physical developmental and communication needs across the districts of Cochrane and Temiskaming and the James Bay communities offering evidence-based rehabilitation services including physiotherapy occupational therapy speech-language pathology recreation therapy and social work. As we continue to expand our client-centered collaborative programs we are seeking Physiotherapists who will play a key role in assessing and treating children who are experiencing concerns in their motor development -while working closely with families interprofessional team members and satellite community locations to deliver meaningful accessible care across Northern Ontario.
Conduct physiotherapy assessments for children from birth to 19 (or up to 21 when applicable) using standardized tools to evaluate motor skills mobility gait strength tone and functional abilities.
Provide direct physiotherapy intervention in-centre through specialized clinics in satellite locations and in community or home settings as required.
Collaborate closely with families and caregivers providing coaching education home exercise recommendations and family-centred support to empower involvement in the childs development.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary teamincluding SLPs OTs therapy assistants social workers and recreation therapiststo coordinate care and participate in joint planning for shared clients.
Provide clinical direction and oversight to Therapy Assistants who deliver components of the physiotherapy programming under supervision.
Participate in specialized clinics such as neonatal follow-up clinics supporting early identification and early intervention needs for infants and young children.
Manage a varied caseload that may include infants preschoolers school-aged children and youth with complex needs adjusting priorities based on referral urgency and clinical risk.
Travel to outreach communities within the Centres catchment area (including remote Northern communities) to deliver equitable access to services.
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation including assessments progress notes treatment plans and discharge summaries in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Participate in ongoing professional development mentorship opportunities and training initiatives supported by the Centre particularly for new graduates.
Registered Physiotherapist in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario or eligible for registration.
Ability to perform standardized physiotherapy assessments for infants children and youth with diverse developmental physical motor and communication needs.
Valid Vulnerable Sector Check due to working directly with children.
Valid drivers license with willingness to travel to satellite and remote Northern Ontario communities as part of service delivery.
Competence in supervising and providing clinical direction to therapy assistants.
Comfortable delivering care across multiple settings including in-centre community home and specialized clinic environments.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with families caregivers and interdisciplinary teams (OT SLP Social Work Recreation Therapy etc.).
Ability to coach and empower families with home programming and developmental strategies.
High level of adaptability and comfort working within Northern and remote communities with varying needs.
