Job Description

A well-established mechanical services contractor operating across the DC Metro Area is looking for a skilled and motivated Lead HVAC Technician to take charge in the field. This role is ideal for a senior technician who enjoys solving complex HVAC challenges while guiding and supporting a team to deliver outstanding results.

You will play a key role in maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency across residential and commercial HVAC projects, acting as both a technical expert and a hands-on leader.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, train, and supervise HVAC technicians on-site

Perform advanced HVAC installations, maintenance, and repair work

Diagnose and troubleshoot complex system issues efficiently

Deliver excellent customer service through clear communication and professionalism

Ensure all work complies with local codes, safety standards, and regulations

Manage tools, materials, and inventory for assigned projects

Conduct preventative maintenance and system inspections

Complete service reports, job documentation, and time tracking accurately

Support scheduling, dispatching, and coordination of field teams

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours support when required

Job Requirements:

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; formal HVAC training preferred

Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair experience

Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, diagnostics, and troubleshooting

EPA Section 608 Certification is required

Proven leadership skills with a problem-solving mindset

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Ability to pass required drug screening
