The Back Server Assistant is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and assisting the servers with various tasks to ensure smooth operations in our establishment. The primary duties include polishing glasses and cutlery, ensuring cleanliness of the dining area, and providing support to the front-of-house team as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Polish glasses, silverware, and other dining utensils to maintain cleanliness and presentation standards
Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas before and after service
Ensure cleanliness of tables, chairs, and other furniture in the dining area
Collaborate with servers and other team members to provide exceptional customer service
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including back-of-house areas
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines
Assist in receiving and storing inventory as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by the management team
Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required
Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Ability to stand and move for extended periods
Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
Must be able to legally work in Canada.
