Full Time Dental Assistant Required

Under the general supervision of the manager, the incumbent provides dental assistant and administrative services to the undergraduate and graduate students, academic and administrative staff and performs all aspects of dental assisting as defined by the ODAA for regularly scheduled and special programs. The incumbent follows through with proper protocol for infection control in all aspects of clinical work, provides administrative services as directed for patients, both in person and on the telephone, accesses and enters data on the Clinic Management System in order to retrieve patient information and book appointments, and assists in special assignments and other duties that are Faculty-related.
Updating and maintaining database records
Assisting faculty, dental students and technicians during treatment procedures
Applying established standards when cleaning, sanitizing and/or sterilizing facilities
Applying established standards when administering biological and/or medical imaging
Providing safety training and ensuring compliance to occupational safety precautions

Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program, Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and current member of the ODAA, including HARP. Minimum two years of experience in the dental field, encompassing all aspects of dentistry.
Experience using all dental related materials and products (e.g. amalgams, impression materials, eugenols, disinfectants, put and fissure sealants, vinyl polysiloxanes, etc.).
Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office.
Capability to work in all facets relating to dentistry (e.g. mixing all materials).

~ Please note this is for two positions in the Oral Surgery/ Anaesthesia clinics. The hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:15 pm.
