Full-Time Physical Therapist

$43.62 per hour

Alberta Health Services

Cold Lake Community Health Services is seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist II. You will provide rural generalist physiotherapy services to clients in home care and continuing care and occasional coverage for acute care services as part of an interdisciplinary team. Services will be delivered at both the Community Health Services and Healthcare Centre. Working in a rural community offers a uniquely rewarding experience—lasting connections and a strong sense of belonging. Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be essential as you build relationships and deliver high-quality rehabilitation services. Cold Lake is a vibrant community nestled on the traditional lands of Treaty 6 and the Métis. It offers a high quality of life with modern amenities and small-town charm. Cold Lake boasts English and French schools, Portage College, and diverse groups for arts, culture, sports, and volunteering. Explore the stunning outdoors from Cold Lake and Meadow Lake Provincial Parks to the Iron Horse Trail. Kinosoo Beach, a hub of summer festivities, and the surrounding wilderness provide endless opportunities for relaxation and adventure. Cold Lake offers not just a career but the chance to become part of a dynamic community where natural beauty, cultural activities, and a welcoming spirit make it truly feel like home. As a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines. You will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers. AHS is dedicated to supporting our Physiotherapists in their practice area and expanding their skillsets regardless of location. All AHS Physiotherapists have access to a list of experienced clinicians across the province and are able to tap into this resource via email, phone and virtual meetings. As we transition to our Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) you will also be able to share patient information real time with these senior clinicians to assist you in providing high quality care.
