Reporting to the Building Operations Supervisor, this role assists in the operation and preventive maintenance of building systems and equipment and is a functional lead which evaluates the work of staff responsible for building cleaning and custodial services.
Lead and assist with the operation, monitoring, and routine maintenance of building systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building automation systems, to support safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations.
Perform and track facility preventative maintenance and general maintenance requests using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS, SAP).
Perform maintenance and repair work to building structures, fixtures, and equipment, prioritizing issues based on safety and operational impact.
Assist with the relocation, installation, and setup of fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
Acts as Building Operations Supervisor as required.
Qualifications Education, Training and Experience Requirements
A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in mechanical, facility, or building systems maintenance and operation, including a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Possession of a valid Refrigeration Engineer's License with TSASK.
Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Knowledge of building systems operation and maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, life‑safety, and building automation systems; demonstrated understanding of standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Knowledge of the materials, practices and equipment used in custodial and maintenance work.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Demonstrated technical skill in the operation and basic troubleshooting of building control and automation systems
Requires Security Check Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) upon offer of employment.
Shift work and weekend work may be involved.
Participation in an on‑call rotation is required.
Salary Range: $34.78 to $38.85 CAD per hour (2026 rates)
