Coverage of rural emergencies frequently includes coverage of medical inpatient units and affiliated long term care beds. This position offers additional incentives, including: a premium payment per hour for hours worked, reimbursement for travel costs, a per diem allowance, meal allowance and accommodation provided by AHS. As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Minimum of 3 years of Nurse Practitioner clinical experience in an acute care setting (within the last 5 years). Practices trauma-informed, patient centered care approach.

Emergency Nurse Practitioner certification (ENP) or equivalent. Emergency Medicine Education: Adult EM Bootcamp/Hippo Education or equivalent i.e. General Emergency Medicine Skills - GEMS. Previous rural and/or emergency nursing experience. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
