Structural Engineering I

We are seeking a Intermediate Marine Structural Engineer to join our clients growing team in either Burnaby or Victoria. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of complex marine and transportation infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on structures in and over water. This includes bridges and their in-water components, pile-supported structures, waterfront infrastructure, shoreline protection systems, and marine facilities such as ports, marinas, and ferry terminals. You will bring solid technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage smaller projects while working closely with clients and regulatory agencies. Execute detailed structural design for marine and transportation infrastructure, including bridges, waterfront structures, and in-water components.

Prepare key project deliverables such as design criteria, technical reports, drawings, and specifications.

Perform quantity take-offs and support the development of capital cost estimates and project budgets.

Provide field services during construction, including site reviews, inspections, and technical support.

Collaborate with project managers to define client requirements, support proposal development, and assist with project planning and scheduling.

Engage with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies, fostering strong working relationships and clear communication.

5–8 years of experience in marine and/or transportation structural engineering, ideally across sectors such as bridges, pile-supported structures, waterfront infrastructure, marine utilities, shoreline protection, and port or harbour facilities.

• Strong technical proficiency in structural engineering, including experience designing infrastructure in or over water.
• Proven ability to manage priorities, contribute to small projects, and deliver high-quality work in a collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to work in field environments, including construction sites and active industrial or marine facilities.

On-site in Vancouver, BC or Victoria, BC 5 days per week.
