Production Supervisor Bakery

Production Supervisor - Sprouted Reports to: Plant Manager
As a Production Supervisor you will play a key role in contributing to the continued success of Silver Hills Bakery whose mission is to inspire individuals to live a healthy lifestyle. You are willing to learn new skills and participate in relevant training sessions

You have strong people leadership skills and ability to manage multiple teams
You have a working knowledge of various computer applications including MS Office Suite

You have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience working in a in a food manufacturing environment with a deep understanding of food manufacturing operations
You have relevant education, including Supervisory and Leadership related training
Experience and/or education in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma
Prepares and submits daily shift reports and summaries; Communicates corporate updates and announcements to the team as needed
Closely follows and monitors line operations to ensure efficiency and waste key performance indicators meet or exceed set targets. Depending on the situation, makes proper escalations and recommendations to the Production Manager
The supervisor is fully responsible for the shift performance
Helps establish new standards and reviews/updates current operational standards across all production areas, ensures complete compliance and consistency among lead hands and team members
Improve and enhance food quality
Understands quality standards thoroughly and provides coaching and training to lead hands and team members on these standards
Coordinates with Production, R&D, QC/QA, and Maintenance departments when quality deviations are discovered beyond controllable limits. Escalates issues to the Production Manager following guidelines
Assists in waste variance analysis, provides feedback and suggestions for countermeasures
Training and succession planning
Provides training to lead hands and operators on technical knowledge, including but not limited to:
Works with lead hands to maintain or improve performance based on their skill matrix assessment
~ Identifies potential new lead hands and develops appropriate training and arrangement plans accordingly

Acts as a key and instrumental member in collaboration between production and supporting departments

• Offers valuable recommendations to reporting and senior managers
• Continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing
• Actively participates in Continuous Improvement programs (will provide training), including:
• Involves lead hands and key operators in various Continuous Improvement activities as needed
