Manufacturing Quality Specialist

The Quality Technician is a methodical, detail-oriented, and proactive member of the Quality Department, responsible for executing daily quality activities to sustain product and process conformity, maintain accurate quality records, and support continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Prepare and review quality documentation, including non-conformance reports (NCR), first article inspections (FAI), and Certificates of Conformance (CoC).
Support calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Assist in the preparation and submission of quality documentation, such as PPAP, Control Plans, and FMEA.
Support customer complaint resolution by participating in root cause analysis and implementing 8D reports.
Provide technical support to the production team to address quality-related issues on the shop floor.
Deviation/concession implementation support (verify identification, acceptance criteria, validity limits)
Education: BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology Certificate.
Minimum 5 years of related quality experience.
General familiarity of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) is an asset.
Strong understanding of quality systems, standards, and methods (e.g., inspection documentation/ERP is an asset.
interpreting results and maintaining controlled records.
Experience in manufacturing processes for electronics, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma process improvement is considered an asset
Computer knowledge and skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Solid Works or similar CAD software.
General knowledge of various materials and properties used in processes such as plastics, metal fabrication, rubber, castings, stampings, etc.
An energetic, diligent work ethic and able to work with little supervision.
Accurate and timely inspection of incoming, in-process, and finished goods.
Precise use of measurement tools to verify product specifications.
Consistent identification and reporting of non-conforming materials or processes
Inspection equipment maintained and calibrated according to schedule.
Active participation in root cause analysis and implementation of effective CAPAs.
Timely and thorough support of customer complaint investigations and 8D reports.
Audit readiness: inspection/measurement records available, traceable, complete.
Inspection records and documentation maintained to meet internal, customer, and audit requirement.
