Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and a part of the Senior Management team the Director of Human Resources is responsible for the development and management of the human resources functions within the Ontario Native Womens Association. By guiding and collaborating with the Senior Management team the Director of HR supports the effective management of all HR functions across ONWA including supporting individual Directors to manage their individual portfolio human resources.

The Director of Human Resources contributes to the development of the ONWAs long-term HR strategies and lead their implementation including the development of appropriate policies and procedures and resourcing of HR budgets.

Degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
Certified Human Resources Management designation.
Proven ability to lead both strategic and tactical HR efforts including workforce planning recruitment compensation benefits training & development and employee relations.
Ability to conduct needs analysis develop implement and monitor training programs and materials.
Experience in strategic planning and development of multi-year work plans specific to the Human Resources.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) databases and data analysis tools.
Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of other Indigenous languages is a strong asset.

Indigenous Cultural knowledge and practices that supports the establishment and maintenance of a wholistic work environment.
Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous womens issues and Indigenous womens way of knowing and being.
Understanding of Indigenous communities in Ontario including the cultural social and historical contexts affecting Indigenous women.
Minimum of 7 years experience in senior level management within the not-for-profit and charity industry.
Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience within the not-for-profit and charity industry asset that it is an Indigenous organization.
Experience in strategic planning and development of multi-year work plans.
The ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.

Highly motivated able to work independently and collaboratively manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Willingness to travel as required.
Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. Passionate about advancing the rights and well-being of Indigenous women and communities.

The full salary range for this role is $135300 - $167959 ONWA conducts annual performance reviews and employees may be eligible for salary adjustments based on performance outcomes and available funding.
