Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Recruitment, Admissions and Enrolment and utilizing a service excellence approach, this position is responsible for leading the development and implementation of prospective student recruitment initiatives.
The Student Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the distribution of information and effective promotion of Selkirk College to prospective high school students across Canada.
This position serves as a liaison between the College and prospective students and target audiences/influencers; identifying and facilitating innovative College and program specific recruitment initiatives; This role is also responsible for facilitating the distribution of promotional materials; researching and planning as well as executing the content, production, and distribution of web, social media and print communications. The Student Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for the research of recruitment trends to make decisions on how best to recruit students to Selkirk College.
This role has a strong understanding of Strategic Enrolment Management and is able to utilize data retrieved through a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track and communicate to students based on their status within the student enrolment funnel.
This role leads the development and implementation of techniques and tools to ensure communication and tracking activities are implemented and quality control measures are met and actively promoting awareness creating desire and interest to attend Selkirk College programs.
The Student Recruitment Coordinator will facilitate communication and action between the College and the Secondary School system for the purposes of increased enrolments and programming.
The hours of work for this position may be varied, including a requirement to work evenings and weekends. This position requires travel within Canada, and time away from home that may average more than five days per trip (primarily September through December).

Works within the Registrar’s Office, liaising with the schools via the deans and chairs to identify recruitment opportunities, target student populations, and to develop, execute and evaluate recruitment plans and campaigns.
Leads the development and implementation of visitation schedules for high schools, agencies, career fairs and/or conferences to meet prospective students, counsellors, and administrators to discuss program offerings and answer/gather questions concerning curriculum, admission requirements, enrollment procedures, timelines, student services and student life. This requires this position to possess a thorough understanding of all of these components of the College.
Leads the creation and delivery of presentations to prospective students and/or parents on an individual or group bases to answer questions, compare educational institutions, discuss their educational goals and to provide admissions, introductory financial aid, secondary school transitions, student services and student life information.
Documents “intelligence” gathered from the “field” as an important input to the development of recruitment, marketing, and College-response strategies.
Strategizes, plans, and organizes on-campus recruitment events for prospective students, including agendas, speakers, workshops, tours, and transportation.
Strategizes, plans, sources, and utilizes merchandise to supports the recruitment process.
Leads the collaborative planning, development and implementation of new and automated processes and procedures to track and communicate with student prospects.
Leads the development of recruitment collateral such as email campaigns, flyers, brochures, web, and social media content; and keeps the CRM up to date with prospective and current student outreach.
Works to continually enhance and improve the communications sent out through the CRM to best promote Selkirk College to the prospective student based on the students position within the enrolment funnel.
Organizes and presents metrics gathered through a CRM to influence recruitment-based decisions and prospective student outreach.
Leads the development, monitoring, and evaluation of various forms of educational partnerships including the development of new and existing transition programs in support of the West Kootenay School Districts and Selkirk College Partnership with goals of increasing career awareness, credit transfer, and seamless secondary to post-secondary transition.
Prepares proposals and reports documenting and evaluating recruitment activities; Remain current with developments in field of student recruitment and strategically liaise with other Recruitment Coordinators.
Liaise and develop relationships with key external stakeholders, such as high school counselors, employment centres and community organizations for the purpose of supporting learner transitions to post-secondary studies.
Collaborated with the Marketing department in the development of creative concepts, marketing strategies and social media recruitment efforts; Excellent written, verbal and customer service skills.
Knowledge of both traditional and digital marketing recruitment pathways.
Knowledge of admissions policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability in report writing, customer relations systems, and social media platforms.
Proficiency in Windows XP and Office Suite.
Able to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
Ability to develop and implement recruitment strategies.
Ability to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated experience in the fields of student recruitment and/or sales and marketing.
- Demonstrated public speaking experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing recruitment or marketing plans.
- This is a regular, full-time (100%) position, commencing March 3, 2026. Salary will be Pay Grade 11, $37.46 per hour in accordance with the PPWC Collective Agreement.
