This position is part of a unionized bargaining hourly wage for this position is starting at 16.60 which is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidates relevant knowledge skills education and prior experience a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role whether it is the starting wage or higher will be within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

Our produce team is crucial to Metros success and were looking for energetic individuals who love working with fresh food and enjoy helping others. If you thrive in a lively environment and are passionate about quality produce we want you on our team!
Inspect produce for freshness and quality removing any damaged or spoiled items.
Ensure that all produce meets the stores quality standards.
Assist customers with locating specific items and provide information about different produce or products in other departments.
Offer recommendations on how to select and store produce.
Answer customer inquiries and address concerns.
Dispose of waste and compostable materials properly.
Monitor inventory levels and restock items as needed.
Perform regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies.
Update signage for promotions sales and seasonal items.
Verify that prices in the system match the displayed prices.
Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Assist with special promotions events or projects as assigned by management.
Customer service driven.
Retail experience is considered an asset.
Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights weekends and holidays
